Causes of Yeast Infections
What is one thing that unites almost every woman on earth? (Hint: not motherhood.) Yeast Infections. Despite what its name implies, a yeast infection is not really an infection at all, but an overgrowth. The fungus Candida is always present in a woman's body, but its growth is usually restrained by the human body's normal operating procedures. However, when an outside influence disrupts a woman's body, the natural mechanisms that keep your body in equilibrium suddenly don't work as well. These bad influences may include: 1. Antibiotics: Too much antibiotics kills off the good bacteria that control Candida growth. 2. Birth control pills/pregnancy: It sounds like an oxymoron, but both make your body to believe that it is pregnant, whether or not it is. Hormone levels are high, and your body is too busy dealing with other things to prevent yeast infections. 3. Stress: It weakens your immune system and your body's ability to take care of itself. 4. Undiagnosed diabetes/HIV +/ other chronic medical conditions: Your body is focused on other, more important things, and thus cannot stop yeast from growing out of control effectively. If none of these risk factors apply to you, consider changing some of your personal habits. Wear looser pants. Change intro dry underwear immediately after bathing or swimming. Eat less sugary food. Get a complete physical evaluation to make sure there are no hidden causes for your yeast infections. Above all, always remember that there are natural cures for yeast infections readily available. There is no need to spend $25 on anti-fungal medication at the pharmacy. You can cure your yeast infections naturally.
